What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a nurturing and holistic touch therapy that treats the whole body. A therapist applies gentle pressure and massage to certain points on the feet, hands or face called reflexes to bring about a state of deep relaxation, stimulate the body’s own healing process, and help a person to return to a state of balance and physical and emotional wellbeing. Reflexologists believe these reflexes mirror and map the systems, organs and glands of the body. Applying gentle massage pressure to these reflex points stimulates blood flow and a nervous reaction in the foot that has a corresponding healing effect in the mirrored area or system of the body via capillary, myofascial, muscular and nervous tissue networks. Reflexology aims to increase the body’s circulation of both blood and lymph, open up neural pathways and support the immune system, placing the client’s body in the best position to work towards rebalancing and self-healing.
Reflexology may help minimise the symptoms of a number of issues, such as the effects of stress, hormonal changes, aches and pains, lack of energy, poor sleep, migraines, headaches, anxiety, menopause, back pain, IBS and Crohn's. Reflexology also supports the body before, during and after pregnancy.
Reflexology Lymph Drainage is a ground-breaking and multi-award-winning technique which focuses on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes on the feet to cause an effect on the lymphatic system of the body. Originally researched and developed by Sally Kay to help reduce lymphoedema after treatment for breast cancer, clinical experience of RLD now suggests that it may be useful for clients with non-cancer related auto immune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Crohn’s disease, IBS, eczema, allergies, asthma, ME, sinus problems, muscular tension, PMS, migraine, lipoedema and post-operative recovery. I also offer Advanced Facial Reflexology, which also stimulates the reflexes of the body-wide system, but also delivers some unique therapeutic benefits. Advanced Facial Reflexology aims to help your body function at its optimal level for self-healing, with the added bonus of the emotional lift of leaving the treatment room with a firmer, more radiant complexion. Facial Reflexology can support clients with migraines, bruxism, bells palsy, sinus congestion, insomnia and anxiety, and this gentle treatment also helps to release tension and emotions held in the face.

My previous career was in PR and corporate communications, where I saw first hand the effects that stress, anxiety and 'keeping all the plates spinning' had on the body and mind. As I entered my early 50s, the effect that long-term stress and hormonal changes were having on my mental and physical health. This ignited my interest in holistic therapies, particularly reflexology.
I started up Victoria Legg Holistic Reflexology as a place to share my interest and love of reflexology, where busy people, those experiencing long-term health issues, or just those that need some time out in a supportive environment, can continue their journey to more holistic health.
I have lived in Bromley for almost 20 years now and when not practicing reflexology, I am most often found walking my dog in our many fabulous woodlands and country parks.
